When I Sat and Listened I Was Learning

Today, I had some feelings.

At first I wasn’t sure what they were, so I sat with them for a bit. And then I knew, I’m feeling fragile. Not a normal state for me, so I Googled the word so I was clear on exactly what I was dealing with. It said, ‘not strong or sturdy; delicate and vulnerable; insubstantial.’ Hmmm, not how I would generally describe myself.

So then I asked myself, are these feelings simply the result of the busy energy of the holidays?

Let’s face it, it feels crazy out there. So, am I just feeling the effects? After all, I am #1 Strength Empathy. 😊

OR

Am I in denial – that I actually am fragile, but I’ve suppressed it or covered it up?

Is it just me or are there others of you feeling this way?

Silently, I’m wishing I’m not the only one, even though I know I can expect a juicy little lesson tucked inside either way.

Now you may ask, what’s the point.

What is this line of thought exploring and why does it matter?

That is the million dollar question – I ask it of myself often.

But for some reason exploring the meanings in life does matter to me. I feel like I’m in this lifetime on a journey and adventure – to learn and grow. So I actively seek the meaning in moments, and that deepens the experience even more for me.

When I’m introduced to a feeling like ‘fragile’, I just have to explore its meaning for me, in that context. Because remember what Brene’ Brown teaches us – vulnerability is a good thing. It’s one of my favorite life lessons. You too?

The next time you’re having ‘feelings’, what if you just hit pause, set a timer for 3 minutes? Let your mind go blank or on an exploration. Listen to your body & soul. It was wisdom to share to help you understand the what/why of the feelings.

I’m glad I did. I definitely feel better!
