The Quiet Voice Behind Good Strategy

Most of the women I work with aren’t lacking aptitude.
They lack quiet.

Their calendars are full. Their responsibilities are real. The decisions don’t stop. Whether you’re leading a nonprofit, a team, or a household, there is always something demanding your attention.

And in the middle of all that noise, there is often a quieter voice.

The problem isn’t that it’s not speaking to us.
The problem is that we ignore it.

We analyze. We research. We gather opinions. We try to be responsible, strategic, thorough. All good things.

But sometimes, beneath all of that, there is something we already know.

Some call it intuition.
Some call it experience.
Some call it pattern recognition built over decades.
Some call it divine guidance.

I’ve learned not to worry too much about the label.

Recently, I was sitting quietly as I often do, just pondering life and all of its ups and downs.

Then all of a sudden, this simple sentence rose up:

It doesn’t have to be this way.

It stopped me.
Not because it was new information.

But because it was a reminder.

I already believe we have more agency than we often use. Circumstances can be painful, even disruptive. But we still get to choose our response. We still get to question the structure we’re operating inside.

In these times, it’s not more effort that’s needed — it’s alignment.

And strategy without inner alignment creates friction.
But strategy informed by something deeper opens possibilities.

The most effective leaders I know aren’t the ones who push the hardest. They’re the ones who pause long enough to hear themselves think — and trust what emerges.

Because often, the breakthrough isn’t about learning something new.

It’s about honoring what you already know.

In ten days, I’m hosting a small gathering on Divine Guidance. It’s an opportunity to consider the wisdom that is already present in your life.

If this resonates, I’d love for you to join me. See details below.

See you next month.

With gratitude, Ann
